I make a conscious effort not to decide ahead of time what kind of prince I will be. The strange story of Bluebeard enchantes me on each occassion, while I have the feeling that every time I go on stage again it means a completely different thing to me. Each time we are able to put the emphasis elsewhere, which gives a totally different interpretation to the same composition. Like a huge tree with thousands of branches and it depends on me which branch to choose.
